In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Frankfurt Zoo, in 2008 their advertising measures were to be intensified. The attractiveness of the zoo as a recreational experience was to be communicated to motivate as many people as possible to come.
The most fascinating thing about visiting a zoo is to see the animals being fed. Since this has to be experienced live to really be appreciated, a livestream banner is the key. It allows for interaction between animals and people which is initiated virtually and carried out in reality.
The user can observe colorful rainbow fish in an aquarium and interact with them live. By clicking on the buttons “Feed” or “Bubble”, the fish are fed in reality or oxygen bubbles are released which spurt up past them. The reaction of the fish is seen instantaneously in the aquarium.
Via the deep link “Zoo Frankfurt”, the user is directed from the banner to the website of the Frankfurt Zoo – right to the page with the feeding times.
The livestream banner attracts a lot of attention – online it is able to generate real enthusiasm for the live experience at the zoo.
